SprayGunWorld: We recommend 1.0 tip set for stains and dyes a 1.2 can also be used for full bodied stain. 1.3 is the largest tip set you should use and might require some wipping. We suggest (Reduced Pressure) reduced pressure over HVLP however either will work well for most people. We recommend a .8 or smaller for a minigun.

Standard
General wood materials take a 1.4-1.8 tip set. You will want to choose a gun that suits your desired materials. Some brands like Furh, and Magmalac and Magmamax are thinner formulations and use a 1.5. More standard lacquers take a 1.7. Thick pigments and heavy urethanes may take a 1.8-1.9.

1.3 is a very common tip size for gravity feed spray guns. Almost every manufacturer we carry has 1.3 guns availalbe. Due to the larger tip size of a 1.3 gravity feed spray gun you may have a little wipping. Feel free to look at our inexpensive gun sets all around out website at SprayGunWorld.com.
