This is a very important step in out quest for the perfect wood finish. Tip selection makes all the difference in the world in how you spray and ultimately how your finish comes out. At SGW we are extremely particular about your finish quality and strive to help you make the best selection for yourself. Beware of bad advise. Even from the manufacture of the paint! Some manufacuturing reps when asked say you need a tip selection from 1.2-1.8 to spray their material. That is like saying you need a shoe size from 6-10 to fit your size 8 foot. At Spray Gun World we help your size 8 foot fit in to a size 8 shoe. We'll go further and tell you if you are a 8D 8DD or an 8E shoe size.
*Remember that tip selections are only a starting a point as different brands of wood materials and spraying environment effect your finish tremendously. You can call professor spray or check with your paint manufacture for best specifications.
Viscosity is the main factor for your tip selection choice. However, this is not as clear as it seems - certain materials appear thicker but atomize easier, some dry too fast and can't be sprayed too thin, etc. But as a general rule we will help give you guidlines that have been learned over the years by talking to people just like you over many years.
