Chrome Painting is very exciting. Rims, Trim, Ceramics, Artwork and just about anything to add an exciting accents to your Auto or even treated wood projects. To get that super smooth reflective metallic finish, (please no spray cans) it is important to have a very good spray gun. While you can get away with hobby guns for other painting tasks, chrome painting generally requires a smaller tip size and a better spray gun. Our suggestions below are the Top of the Top Spray Guns and therefore a little pricey, but we have a bargain section below also. In addition, we specialize in multiple tip optons so your spray gun can do many different jobs like base and clear automotive paint.
Gun in example is a German Optima Spray Gun, very expensive. We have the current top German Optima gun Here - they are upto 900 not 650:
But we have selected a few less expensive but still top rate alternatives below.
Please ask your paint chrome manufacture for suggested tip sizes. While we prefer a smaller tip set, some paints are a little thicker than others.
1.0-1.3 for a full size gun. We like 1.0 & 1.2 but some people have used a 1.3 with good result.
.8 for a Pressure Gun
We recommend a .8 - 1.0 for a mini gun however, some mobile vendors prefer a 1.2. Our WB has ALL the sizes so you don't have to worry.
Reduced Pressure and LVLP work better for this application than HVLP.
