Airless units are great for large contractors or exterior painters who are more concerned with speed than finish quality.
We do not recommend them for home users or even small contractors for the following reasons.
| Liability Issues |
Airless units operate at extreme high pressure and are actually dangerous. (Safety warning: Do not ever put your hand, arm, finger(s), or any other part of your body in front of the paint sprayer when in use. This could lead to permanent injury. The pressure emitted is strong enough to cut through rust and to take off old paint, so keep this in mind and think what it could do to soft human flesh.) |
| Very poor transfer Efficiency |
They also suffer from very poor transfer efficiency and with the cost of today's paints you are throwing away 1/2 your paint. |
| CANNOT do fine finishing. |
Airless Rigs were not designed for that. They were designed for parking lot stripes etc. |
| Cumbersome |
When compared to an all in one HVLP Turbine they airless rigs are cumbersome to work with |
HVLP Options
Instead: Comparable HVLP systems for home users and contractors that run about $250 and up complete with compressor - ask@spraygunworld.com
And for contractors we have some options here.

Airless Units are Fast but they waste 50%-65% of your material. This is not a "Green" technology. |
